Job summary

Total Waste Recruitment is seeking an Operations Manager – Waste Management & Recycling Site Production to lead a high-output plant in Yorkshire and North Notts. You will oversee a production team, ensuring safety, quality and targets are met across all shifts.

The role requires 2+ years in high-volume waste/processing operations, strong leadership, and a UK driving licence. Ideal qualifications include COTC/WAMITAB Level 4 and NEBOSH or IOSH.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience managing high-volume waste/processing operations.
• Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, compliant and efficient running of the plant.
• Ensure production targets are met in line with quality standards.
• Monitor KPI metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Liaise with contracts, logistics and customers to ensure smooth delivery.

HGH VOLUME WASTE & RECYCLING PROCESSING SPECIALIST REQUIRED TO MANAGE A TEAM OF PRODUCTION STAFF AT A HIGH OUTPUT PLANT

Title

Operations Manager – Waste Management & Recycling Site Production

Salary

Circa £65-70 plus car, £30K bonus & £20K override bonus, pension

Hours

Mon-Fri 40 hrs per week

Location

Yorkshire (M1 & East), North Notts, North Lincs

Your site may have processed or worked in

Construction & Demolition Waste, Recycled Aggregates, Biomass, Wood Waste, RDF, SRF, Dry Mixed Recycling, MBT, MRF, Quarrying

Oversee the safe, compliant and efficient running of the plant, ensuring production targets are consistently met in line with quality standards, output requirements and customer expectations.

Monitor and improve operational performance through KPI analysis, effective quality management and a proactive approach to Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.

Liaise with contracts, logistics and customers to ensure smooth delivery operations, resolve issues promptly and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.

Take responsibility for budgetary control, resource allocation and operational efficiency, driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, increase productivity and minimise costs.

Experience

You will have 2+ years’ experience managing High volume waste, quarry or aggregates processing / production type operations (collections focussed backgrounds not considered)

You will have a strong man manager

You will have a UK Driving Licence

Ideal Qualifications

• COTC / WAMITAB Level 4
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent
• Full UK Driving Licence
