Job summary

New City College in London seeks an experienced Lecturer in Plumbing to teach and assess learners from Entry Level to Level 3 across college programmes and, where required, on employers’ premises. You will use industry knowledge to deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that helps learners develop practical skills and progress in their chosen careers.

You will hold a qualified plumber background and a teaching qualification such as DTTLS or PGCE, with A1 Assessor Award desirable.

Qualifications

Qualified plumber with hands-on plumbing industry experience.
Teaching or training qualification such as DTTLS or PGCE.
A1 Assessor Award (V1 desirable).

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching, training and assessment across accredited Plumbing qualifications, both in College and on employers’ premises.
Plan and deliver learner-centred programmes that develop learners’ practical skills and industry knowledge.
Assess and support students and apprentices from induction through to achievement with feedback.
Develop schemes of work, assessment plans, learning outcomes and individual learning plans.
Monitor learner progress and maintain records.
Work with employers and awarding bodies to support delivery and development of Plumbing qualifications.
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the Plumbing provision.
