Job summary

New City College in London seeks an experienced Lecturer in Plumbing to teach and assess learners from Entry Level to Level 3 across college programmes and, where required, on employers’ premises. You will use industry knowledge to deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that helps learners develop practical skills and progress in their chosen careers.

You will hold a qualified plumber background and a teaching qualification such as DTTLS or PGCE, with A1 Assessor Award desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, training and assessment across accredited Plumbing qualifications, both in College and on employers’ premises.
• Plan and deliver learner-centred programmes that develop learners’ practical skills and industry knowledge.
• Assess and support students and apprentices from induction through to achievement with feedback.
• Develop schemes of work, assessment plans, learning outcomes and individual learning plans.
• Monitor learner progress and maintain records.
• Work with employers and awarding bodies to support delivery and development of Plumbing qualifications.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the Plumbing provision.

The Role:

Weare looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Lecturer in Plumbing to joinour team. You will teach and assess learners across a range of Plumbingprogrammes, from Entry Level to Level 3, supporting both young people and adultlearners. You will use your industry knowledge and practical experience todeliver engaging, high-quality teaching that helps learners develop the skillsand confidence needed to achieve their qualifications and progress in theirchosen careers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality teaching, training and assessment acrossaccredited Plumbing qualifications, both in College and, where required, onemployers’ premises.
• Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred programmes that developlearners’ practical skills and industry knowledge.
• Assess and support students and apprentices from induction throughto successful achievement, providing regular feedback and guidance.
• Develop schemes of work, assessment plans, learning outcomes andindividual learning plans.
• Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate course, assessmentand training records.
• Work closely with colleagues, employers and awarding bodies tosupport the delivery and development of Plumbing qualifications.
• Contribute to curriculum development, course reviews andcontinuous improvement of the Plumbing provision.

Who You Are:

Youwill be a qualified Plumber with relevant hands-on experience within thePlumbing industry and a passion for sharing your knowledge with learners. Youwill hold a relevant teaching or training qualification, such as DTTLS or PGCE,and ideally an A1 Assessor Award, with the V1 Award being desirable. You willbe organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team, withexperience of developing assessment plans and schemes of work. You Willalsodemonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity, andsupporting all learners to achieve their potential.
