Job summary

New City College in England is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Plumbing to join our team. You will teach and assess learners across Plumbing programmes from Entry Level to Level 3, drawing on industry knowledge to deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that helps learners gain qualifications and progress in their careers.

The role requires a qualified Plumber with hands-on experience, a teaching or trainer qualification such as DTTLS or PGCE, and ideally an A1 Assessor Award.

Qualifications

• Qualified Plumber with hands-on experience in the Plumbing industry.
• Teaching or training qualification such as DTTLS or PGCE.
• A1 Assessor Award is desirable (V1 Award desirable).
• Organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team; experience developing assessment plans and schemes of work.
• Committed to safeguarding, equality and diversity, and supporting all learners to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, training and assessment across Plumbing qualifications, in College and on employers' premises.
• Plan and deliver learner-centred programmes developing practical skills and industry knowledge.
• Assess and support students from induction through to achievement with regular feedback.
• Develop schemes of work, assessment plans, learning outcomes and individual learning plans.
• Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate course and training records.
• Work with colleagues, employers and awarding bodies to support Plumbing qualifications.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of Plumbing provision.
