Job summary

Plumb Centre is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team in Newmarket. You will support customers at the trade counter, advise on heating and plumbing products, and help with stock and order fulfilment.

The role requires strong customer service skills and a team-focused approach. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a start date of 4 September 2026 and a salary of £26,695 plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Plumbing & heating knowledge is ideal.
• Face-to-face sales and customer service experience.
• Warehouse experience.
• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Team player who helps in all areas for smooth branch operation.
• Eagerness to learn with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Comfortable lifting heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter by understanding needs and giving product recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain business.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to drive sales within the branch, engaging new and existing customers.
• Perform general warehouse duties including stock intake, putaway, and picking/packing orders (heavy items).
