Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Plumbing & Gas Trainer in Wigan to move from site work into teaching. The role delivers apprenticeship programmes up to Level 3 with practical workshops and classroom sessions, and salary is 31,000 - 42,000 plus Teachers' Pension, generous leave, healthcare and benefits.

Current Gas Safe registration is essential; occupational competence to Level 3 or equivalent is required, with teaching qualifications supported.

Qualifications

• Significant Plumbing & Gas industry experience up to Level 3.
• Current Gas Safe registration essential.
• Experience training or mentoring apprentices is beneficial.
• Willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
• Level 2 English and Maths.
• Knowledge of regulations and health & safety standards.
• Air Source Heat Pump or low-carbon heating experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Plumbing & Gas apprenticeship programmes up to Level 3.
• Deliver a mix of practical workshop and classroom-based sessions.
• Train learners across installation, maintenance, fault-finding and safe working practices.
• Develop apprentices' technical skills, behaviours and knowledge.
• Incorporate Gas Safe requirements, regulations and employer expectations into training.
• Assess learner progress and provide clear feedback.
• Maintain accurate assessment, progress and learner records.
• Collaborate with employers and colleagues to support delivery.
• Support learners' progression and employment preparation.
• Incorporate sustainability and low-carbon heating into learning.
• Support Open Evenings, recruitment and employer engagement when required.
• Full-time permanent position, 37 hours per week.
• Support provided to gain a recognised teaching qualification.
