Job summary

Metro Rod Norwich is seeking a plumbing-focused Reactive Plumbing & Drainage Engineer for a full-time permanent role. Salary ranges from £33,000 to £38,000, with on-call duties, overtime, and benefits.

The successful candidate will mainly perform plumbing tasks while supporting drainage call-outs and blockages as part of a varied daily workload. The role offers on-call rotation with overtime paid at 1.5x, opportunities for additional training, and potential progression into specialist leak

Qualifications

• Proven plumbing experience; NVQ Level 2 preferred or time-served equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Strong customer service skills for client-facing work.
• Good problem-solving abilities and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plumbing works as the primary duties.
• Support reactive drainage call-outs, blockage clearances and related tasks.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a plumbing-focused engineer who is flexible, eager to learn, and interested in developing additional specialist skills within the drainage and leak detection industry.

The successful candidate will primarily carry out plumbing works but will also be expected to support reactive drainage call-outs, blockage clearances, and related works as part of a varied day-to-day role.

This role also forms part of an on-call rota, with overtime paid at 1.5x standard hourly rate.

There will be opportunities for further training and progression into specialist leak detection services.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

We are looking for a competent Plumbing Engineer who is used to reactive work. Ideally, we require an NVQ Level 2 however are open to someone with time-served experience as an alternative.

Essential:

• Proven plumbing experience (and ideally NVQ Level 2 qualification)
• Full UK driving license
• Strong customer service skills
• Problem solving skills
• Positive and proactive approach to work and customer service
• Willingness and interest in learning drainage services
• Able to participate in an on-call rota system
