Job summary

New College Swindon is seeking a Skills Coach/Assessor to support apprentices and adult learners with engaging teaching, coaching and assessment that helps them achieve qualifications and progress in their careers.

You will manage a caseload, plan learning for workplace and remote delivery, monitor progress, provide feedback, prepare for End Point Assessments and maintain accurate learner records in line with funding rules.

Qualifications

• Must have relevant industry experience in the occupational sector.
• A recognised teaching or assessing qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
• Must hold Level 3 NVQ in domestic plumbing and heating (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and coaching skills to motivate learners.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support a caseload of apprentices and learners throughout their programme.
• Deliver engaging teaching, coaching and assessment using a range of learning methods and digital technologies.
• Plan learning that meets individual learner and employer needs, both in the workplace and remotely.
• Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback and implement timely interventions where required.
• Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment, ensuring they successfully complete all elements of their programme.
• Maintain accurate learner records and evidence of off-the-job training in line with DfE funding requirements.
• Build strong relationships with employers, carrying out regular progress reviews and ensuring training meets workplace needs.
• Support learners with additional learning needs, ensuring appropriate support plans and compliance requirements are in place.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities, CPD and standardisation to maintain outstanding delivery.
