Job summary

Artic Building Services Limited in London is seeking a Plumber/Mechanical Engineer for a permanent role. You will perform plumbing duties, assist fabric engineers, and help maintain mechanical plant across client sites.

The position is Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, with on-site work at various locations including UCL contracts. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of commercial plumbing experience, strong English communication, and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial plumbing experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing and mechanical plant.
• Ability to meet health and safety obligations.
• Proof of trade training (NVQ/C&G).
• Ability to pass enhanced DBS check.
• Right to work in the UK and provide documentation.

Title of Position:Plumber/mechanical engineer

Hours: 08.00-17.00 Monday to Friday

Title Position Reports to:Artic Contract Manager, Residential

Day to day responsibilities

Plumbing duties and assisting fabric engineers

Keeping records of stock

Survey jobs and notify your supervisor of materials required.

Keeping a PDA up to date

Knowledge

Must have a sound knowledge of all aspects of plumbing and mechanical plant

Experience

A minimum of 3 years commercial Plumbing experience, such as hospitals, schools, residential buildings, university’s, offices.

Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance activities.

Qualifications

You must have a proven track record within the industry with a good steady work record.

Proof of any trade training/course’s (NVQ/C&G)

IPAF 3a/3b ticket (ideal but not essential)

Education:

A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English.

The person:

Character committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.

To have a calm manner and able to work under pressure. Able to make sound decisions when needed.

A team player, able to work with the team and client’s representatives at all levels.

Must be willing to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.

Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.

Must have the right to work in the UK and provide documentation.

Health and Safety

Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.

Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.

Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
