Job summary

Lancaster City Council is seeking a skilled plumber to maintain and improve council housing and buildings across Lancaster. You will help provide safe, high‑quality homes for tenants and support community wellbeing through reliable service and workmanship.

The role involves responsive maintenance, emergency repairs, and installations such as level access showers. A DBS check is required, and candidates should have an NVQ Level 2 in plumbing, a full driving licence, and a customer‑facing mindset.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll carry out a variety of plumbing tasks including responsive maintenance, emergency repairs, and installations such as level access showers for disabled adaptations. You’ll manage void and empty homes, maintain van stock, and work closely with the repairs team and subcontractors. Your role will also involve using electronic reporting systems, following health and safety standards, and occasionally guiding apprentices or trainees.

You hold an NVQ Level 2 in plumbing or equivalent, have a full driving licence, and are committed to delivering excellent customer service.
