Job summary

Equans is recruiting a Plumber for the Lewisham Schools contract, based on site at Prendergast Ladywell School in Lewisham, UK. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with shifts between 6am and 6pm, and a competitive benefits package.

You will deliver safe, efficient plumbing maintenance and repairs, read drawings, respond to call-outs and work with premises teams to keep facilities fully operational for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Hold at least Level 2 certification to demonstrate competence in plumbing.
• May be part-qualified or working towards Level 3 qualifications.
• Must undertake ongoing AP/CP training for high-risk disciplines.
• Proven experience in plumbing maintenance, installation and fault finding.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with contractors, colleagues and client representatives.
• Professional, courteous and flexible approach.
• Clean, full UK driving licence.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain pipes, fixtures and other plumbing systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and diagrams.
• Inspect plumbing systems for leaks and faults; test for safe operation.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and helpdesk events.
• Complete reactive and planned tasks within timescales.
• Use mobile PDAs and CAFM system to receive, update and close tasks.
• Maintain clear records of work and materials used.
• Collaborate with contractors, electricians and premises teams.
• Ensure compliance with plumbing regulations and health & safety.
• Liaise with end users to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist with room layouts and equipment setups when required.
• Move furniture and equipment safely; coordinate with departments.
• Take on ad hoc duties and report issues to on-site teams.
• Maintain a professional image when dealing with customers and partners.
• Adhere to EQUANS Health & Safety policies and procedures.
