Wolviston Management Services are supporting our client in recruiting a PLC Software Engineer / Multi-Skilled Automation Engineer to join their established automation team in the North East England.

You will develop, test and commission PLC and HMI control systems using Siemens, Omron and Mitsubishi platforms, bridging electrical, mechanical and software disciplines. This is a permanent, full-time role with occasional UK and overseas travel, offering a competitive salary and career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial automation, PLC controls or machinery.
• Strong PLC programming with Siemens, Omron or Mitsubishi.
• Experience in automation and motion control with motors/servos.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
• Industrial robot programming or integration with ABB/FANUC/KUKA.

Responsabilités

• Develop, program, test and commission PLC and HMI control systems for bespoke automation equipment.
• Work with Siemens, Omron and Mitsubishi platforms for system integration.
• Develop and troubleshoot automation and motion control systems with motors and actuators.
• Support mechanical assembly, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and software faults to ensure reliability.
• Configure and commission industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS).
• Support robotic systems programming and integration as required.
• Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings for project delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning and handover.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability and efficiency.
