Job summary

Fife Council is seeking a Childcare Practitioner to plan, facilitate and supervise play-based activities for children in various settings. You will help create a safe, welcoming play space and empower children to lead activities to boost creativity and independence.

The role requires a relevant childcare qualification or willingness to work towards one, plus PVG clearance and SSSC registration within six months. You will work as part of a supportive team to promote health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people of various ages.
• Relevant childcare qualification or willingness to pursue one as required by the SSSC.
• Reliable, good communication and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, facilitate and supervise play-based activities in both indoor and outdoor settings.
• Empower children to lead their own play and develop creativity and independence.
• Assist in preparing healthy snacks aligned with dietary guidelines.
• Support children to build confidence, self-esteem and lifelong skills through play.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing, including responding calmly to accidents and incidents.
