Fife Council in Scotland is seeking Casual Childcare Practitioners to support our out of school clubs across Fife. You will plan, facilitate and supervise a range of play-based activities, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring spaces are safe, welcoming and stimulating.
Successful applicants will have childcare experience, a relevant qualification (or be willing to work towards one under the Scottish Social Services Council), and demonstrate reliability and teamwork.
We are looking to add to our pool of Casual Childcare Practitioners who support our out of school club across Fife.
As a Casual Childcare Practitioner, you will be expected to:
Plan, facilitate and supervise a wide range of play-based activities and social experiences both in and outdoors. This will include setting up the play space to ensure it is safe, stimulating and welcoming.
Empower children to lead their own play, guiding them on as needed to boost their creativity and independence.
Support children to prepare healthy snacks in line with dietary and nutritional need and guidelines.
Support and encourage children to build confidence, self-esteem and lifelong skills through play and exploration.
Deal with accidents and incidents, responding calmly and professional, ensuring children’s health and wellbeing needs are met.
Work with other Practitioners, the Senior Childcare Practitioner and Childcare Manager to complete range of paperwork to ensure the service runs smoothly and all information is recorded accurately.
As a Casual Childcare Practitioner, you will work in one service or across many services in an area of your choosing.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
