Job summary

nmb-minebea in the UK requires an organised Production Operative to support surface treatment processes. You will read engineering drawings, set up and operate jigs, perform masking and prep work, and ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include documentation, teamwork, and meeting production targets. Overtime may be available; various shift times apply to A/B rotation, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

Proficiency reading engineering drawings and following spec sheets.
Ability to use standard measurement equipment.
Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Clean and prepare parts for processing.
Mask parts as required.
Carry out general jigging tasks.
Follow specifications and standard operating methods.
Ensure parts are processed within allocated time.
Complete and verify documentation.
Support area with additional tasks as needed.
Assist team members to meet production goals.
Contribute to achieving quality, efficiency and production targets.
Maintain NADCAP accreditation through precise work and procedures.

A/B Shift Rotation (see hours of work for details) – 37 hours a week

Position Description; Scope of the role;

Applicants should be able to read engineering drawings, have a good dexterity skills and be able to use standard measuring equipment. (Ideally Comparator, Micrometer, Fischer Dualscope).

Tasks are varied, covering all Surface Treatment roles and responsibilities, (general preparation, masking, jigging etc, as well as carrying out specific plating tasks), ensuring that processes are carried out to specifications, to achieve the necessary Quality requirement in a safe manner. There is a requirement that parts are processed within allotted time and conform to drawing.

Maintaining NADCAP accreditation through attention to detail and working to agreed methods
