Job summary

Virgin Media is seeking a Platform Lead for Middleware to shape the strategy and own the roadmap for middleware, API gateways and integration across services in London. You will lead cross‑functional teams, balance performance with cost and risk, and drive cloud‑native, API‑led engineering practices.

You will partner with technical leads and strategic vendors to deliver scalable, governed platforms, accelerate AI‑enabled governance, and ensure resilience and value delivery for the business.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Strong expertise in middleware and integration platforms such as GCP and Oracle Fusion.
• Deep understanding of API management and gateway technologies such as Apigee.
• Experience with microservices architecture and MACH principles.
• Proven experience operating within a strategic partner or managed service model.

Responsibilities

• Shape and drive the strategy and roadmap for middleware, APIs and integration.
• Own platform vision across middleware, microservices and API ecosystems with senior stakeholders.
• Deliver scalable, governed and high-performing services and manage performance, cost and risk.
• Lead modernization of integration capabilities to deliver measurable business value.
