Job summary

Virgin Media O2 is looking for a Platform Lead for Middleware, MSA and API Gateways in London. You will shape the strategy and roadmap for a critical integration platform estate, guiding middleware, microservices and API ecosystems.

The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on governance to deliver scalable, cost-aware, cloud-native solutions. You will partner with technical leads and strategic partners, driving AI-enabled innovation, improving engineering productivity and modernising

Qualifications

Significant experience leading large-scale enterprise platforms.
Strong expertise in middleware and integration platforms such as GCP and Oracle Fusion.
Deep understanding of API management and gateway technologies such as Apigee.
Experience with microservices architecture and MACH principles.
Proven experience operating within a strategic partner or managed service model.

Responsibilities

Shape and drive the strategy, performance and evolution of a critical integration platform estate.
Own the platform vision and roadmap across middleware, microservices and API ecosystems.
Deliver governance, reliability and cost management while enabling cloud-native engineering practices.
Steer AI-enabled innovation and improve engineering productivity across teams.
Manage performance, cost and risk for the platform in partnership with stakeholders.
