Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to own a functional team within Platform Engineering, ensuring production stability and delivering strategic initiatives. You will mentor engineers, align with the Director and Heads of Platform Engineering, and collaborate with the Product Manager to implement scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes strong async communication across timezones, secure CI/CD practices, and driving improvements in distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical delivery for autonomous teams and large-scale projects.
• Experience managing and supporting large-scale internet-facing distributed systems, for millions of customers.
• Security best-practices, security and CI/CD tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Own production stability and reliability of services; ensure scalability.
• Line-manage Platform engineers and set performance goals.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers and Product Manager on technical implementation of priorities.
• Deliver major initiatives on defined timelines and drive non-functional improvements.
