Job summary

Trainline is seeking a Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering and Tooling team (Atlas). You will help build and run scalable, secure infrastructure across the Trainline platform, using Terraform on AWS and writing automation in Node.js or Python.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, tech leads and delivery managers to plan priorities, implement changes, and ensure production readiness with robust CI/CD pipelines and secure-by-default practices.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python/Node.js/C#/one modern language used for infra tooling.
• Strong grasp of DevOps best practices, automation and testing.
• Experience with AWS services and IaC tooling, security-focused design.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to scalable, secure infrastructure across Trainline platforms.
• Implement infrastructure changes with Terraform using existing module patterns.
• Apply least-privilege and secure-by-default across AWS accounts.
• Build automation and tooling in Node.js or Python to speed delivery.
• Engage in code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing with peers.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads and cross‑functional teams to plan work and manage dependencies.
