Job summary

9fin is seeking a highly motivated Platform Engineer to empower developers and accelerate product delivery on our fintech platform. You will design and implement core infrastructure as code, automate multi-account AWS setups, and refine CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, secure releases.

You’ll build a developer portal, enhance observability with SLI/SLO reporting, and contribute to open-source tools to improve the developer experience across our engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of AWS services including ECS, EC2, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route53, CloudFront, S3, RDS.
• Experience with monitoring and logging; OpenTelemetry, AWS CloudWatch and SigNoz bonus.
• SRE knowledge and incident management platforms (eg incident.io, PagerDuty).
• Proven ability to provide and support scalable CI/CD pipelines.
• Linux, Git, Docker, scripting in Python, Bash, Go; proficient in at least one modern language.
• Experience defining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Knowledgeable and comfortable with Agile development practices.
• Passion for developer experience and Platform Engineering.
• Fintech experience a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing high quality infrastructure as code templates/modules, and empowering software engineers to use them for their projects.
• Implementing AWS multi‑account core infrastructure, and ensuring security best practices are being used across the cloud estate.
• Authoring CI/CD templates and optimisations to ensure that engineers can release as early and often as possible.
• Designing and implementing a developer portal, to provide a service catalog to the engineering team, and also author many other useful DevOps plugins.
• Contributing to observability best practices and providing key SLI/SLO metric reporting, so that the engineering team can balance velocity and reliability.
• Develop inner/open source projects to help provide a world‑class developer experience to the engineering team.
