Job summary

DataVita is seeking a Platform Engineer to contribute across virtualization, compute, storage, network and backup infra in its on-site High Blantyre data centres. You will work across customer and internal projects, with opportunities to learn new technologies and drive automation.

Role involves broad responsibilities, from troubleshooting to building out DataVita's cloud and HPC platform, reporting to the Head of Platform Engineering. A hands-on, curious engineer will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi in production environments.
• Hands-on Hyper-V administration and day-to-day operation.
• Knowledge of Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and Fortinet products.
• Data centre or enterprise networking experience (Cisco).
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS) such as NetApp or equivalent.
• Strong scripting/automation skills in at least one of PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and supporting virtualisation, compute, storage, network and backup infrastructure.
• Delivering customer projects end-to-end from scoping to handover.
• Running internal infra projects to improve platforms, resilience and efficiency.
• Automating build/configuration to avoid repetitive manual work.
• Contributing to DataVita's cloud and HPC platform architecture and build.
