Job summary

VOIS (Vodafone Intelligent Solutions) seeks an experienced Platform Architect to lead architectural leadership across multiple platform domains. You will guide engineering squads in solution design, domain models, and API specifications, translating business needs into scalable and secure designs.

The role emphasizes cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven approaches with strong stakeholder collaboration. Hybrid setup in Newbury or Paddington, UK.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in solution, platform architecture, or complex software environments.
• Proven experience designing cloud-native, API-first, distributed systems.
• Expertise in at least one telco or digital platform domain (CRM, Billing, Provisioning, etc.).
• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, maintainable designs.
• Strong knowledge of platform operating models, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience creating architecture artefacts (designs, domain models, API specs).
• Familiarity with AI-native delivery and specification-driven engineering.

Responsibilities

• We provide architectural leadership and domain expertise across platform domains.
• We support multiple squads with solution design, guidance, and decisions.
• We define solution architectures, domain models, and artefacts for platform capabilities.
• We translate requirements into scalable, secure, and reusable designs.
• We produce architecture artefacts including API specs and technical docs.
• We define APIs and integration patterns to support reuse and sustainability.
• We ensure delivery aligns with architecture principles and standards.
• We support tech leads in resolving complex challenges.
• We contribute to platform modernisation and roadmaps.
• We identify opportunities to reduce debt and improve consistency.
• We promote cloud-native, API-first, event-driven approaches.
• We participate in governance forums and design reviews.
• We work with engineering teams to implement architectural intent.
• We champion AI-native and specification-driven practices with reusable guidance.
