Job summary

Advanced Engineering in Sheffield is seeking a Plater / Fabricator to join a busy manufacturing team. You will mark out, cut, shape, form and assemble plate and fabricated components, using appropriate tools and safely operating machinery. Reading drawings and ensuring quality to drawings is essential.

The role runs Monday to Friday (37.5 hour week) with a pay rate of £20 per hour. Health and safety around lifting and fabrication equipment is a must; you will report any defects or problems to

Qualifications

• Experience as a Plater / Fabricator in fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong fabrication, measuring, marking out and assembly skills.

Responsibilities

• Mark out, cut, shape, form and assemble plate, section and fabricated components.
• Use appropriate fabrication tools, machinery and equipment safely and correctly.
• Prepare, align and tack components ready for welding, ensuring they meet required standards.
• Check work for accuracy, quality and compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Work safely with overhead cranes, lifting equipment and mechanical handling equipment where trained and authorised.
• Report defects, drawing issues, material concerns or production problems to the line manager
