Job summary

Windles Group | Certified B-Corp, a premier print house in the Oxfordshire countryside, specialises in greetings cards, luxury packaging, cartons and rigid boxes. We combine advanced in-house techniques and finishes such as cold foil printing, hot foil, textured varnishes, neon inks, spot gloss, embossing/debossing, die-cutting and high-speed gluing with a fully digital support service and in-house design studio.

This is a full-time, on-site Platen Operator role based in Thame.

Qualifications

• Experience operating platen presses or similar print finishing equipment.
• Knowledge of UV litho printing, die-cutting and high-speed gluing in a commercial print environment.
• Ability to read and interpret job specifications, artwork layouts and production instructions.
• Awareness of health and safety practices in a print manufacturing setting.
• Good problem-solving skills for minor press issues.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain platen presses to produce greetings cards and packaging.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust settings for accurate cutting, creasing, embossing and debossing.
• Interpret job tickets and specifications with attention to detail.
• Perform routine checks to minimise downtime and waste.
• Assist with housekeeping and contribute to continuous improvement in finishing processes.
