Omega Resource Group in Blackburn is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced plastics manufacturing site. The role offers a continental shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) and a salary of £50,000, with long-term career prospects and ongoing training.

The successful candidate will perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance on injection moulding, blow moulding and conveyors, supporting continuous improvement and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 / City & Guilds / HNC/HND or Apprenticeship in Engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing or FMCG packaging environments.
• Strong fault-finding on automated machinery.
• Injection/blow moulding and conveyors experience desirable.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical docs.
• PLC fault finding knowledge desirable.
• Flexible with continental shift pattern.

Responsabilités

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across the facility.
• Fault find and repair production equipment to minimise downtime.
• Work on injection moulding, blow moulding, conveyors and related systems.
• Support continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability and plant performance.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
• Ensure maintenance activities are safe and in line with procedures.
• Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and projects.
• Accurately complete maintenance records and shift handovers.
