Job summary

Imperium Recruitment is seeking a confident Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our client's busy Blackburn site. You will maintain and repair injection and blow moulding machinery, with a hydraulics focus, as part of a larger engineering team.

The role follows a Panama shift pattern (2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights) across 7 shifts per 2-week period, with a strong emphasis on reliability and quality in a plastics-based manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained or time-served maintenance engineer; Level 2 considered depending on experience.
• Experience on injection moulding machines is advantageous.
• Mechanical background with strong fault-finding skills.
• Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Proactive, flexible and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of machinery on site.
• Diagnose and fault-find mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Support machine changeovers, tool changes and continuous improvement activity.
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety procedures.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately.

Job description

Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a confident Mechanically Bias Maintenance Technician to join the established Engineering team at our clients busy manufacturing site in Blackburn.

Supplying high quality plastic components into the automotive, medical and industrial sectors you will need to have a proactive approach to maintaining and repairing injection and blow moulding machinery.

You will need to have a solid understanding of Hydraulics and working with the wider engineering team you will be responsible for tooling support and ensuring consistent product quality across the manufacturing operations.

Working a panama shift pattern of 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights, you will work 7 shifts across a 2 week period !!

Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience and a good understanding of plastics process, injection, blow moulding machinery and manufacturing to further enhance the team at this global manufacturing site in the heart of Blackburn.

Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician
