Job summary

Mears Group in Dover is looking for a skilled plasterer to join a busy responsive repairs contract in social housing. This hands-on role covers patch repairs, wall skim finishing, ceiling works and making good after other trades, with a focus on high-quality workmanship in residents' homes.

You should have domestic plastering experience, be able to work independently, and hold a full UK driving licence. The role offers a salary up to £33,967.90 per year, a company van and fuel card, and a strong

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic plastering repairs and finishes.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ability to work independently in residents’ homes.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service in occupied homes.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive plastering repairs in occupied properties.
• Prepare surfaces and apply plaster, bonding, boarding, rendering, and skimming.
• Repair damaged walls and ceilings, patching and full re-plastering as needed.
• Apply full skims to walls and ceilings where required.
• Make good around door frames, windows, sockets and pipework.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area protecting residents’ belongings.
• Record job details and materials used using handheld devices or job sheets.
• Work respectfully in residents’ homes with a professional attitude.
• Identify and report additional works or property issues.
• Participate in the out-of-hours emergency rota when required.
