Job summary

Multi Trades Recruitment is seeking Experienced Plasterers / Decorators to join a well-established social housing maintenance company servicing South Manchester and surrounding areas. The role starts in early December 2026, with a Monday–Friday 8:30am–5pm schedule.

You will undertake reactive maintenance across occupied and void properties, including plastering, patching, decorating and finishing to a high standard. A valid CSCS card is required and a full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified / time-served Plasterer / Decorator.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Valid DBS ideally (can be obtained before start).
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Own tools required.
• Experience in social housing / reactive maintenance preferred.
• Experience across occupied and void properties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance and repair works across occupied and void social housing properties.
• Skimming, patch plastering and repairing damaged walls and ceilings.
• Preparing surfaces, filling cracks and making good damaged areas.
• Applying bonding, backing plaster and finishing coats.
• Internal painting and decorating, including walls, ceilings and woodwork.
• Following health & safety procedures.
• Complete reactive maintenance jobs across multiple properties.

Multi Trades Recruitment is looking for Experienced Plasterers / Decorators to begin work for a well-established social housing maintenance company covering South Manchester and surrounding areas.

About the Role:

• Working Hours - Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm (Sporadic on call rota)
• Pay Rate - £22.00 per hour
• Duration - Up to 8 years contract for the right candidate
• Location - South Manchester - Altrincham, Wythenshawe, Cheadle, Wilmswhere and surrounding areas
• Start Date - Early December 2026

Brief Role Description -

We are looking for experienced Plasterers / Decorators to carry out reactive maintenance and repair works across occupied and void social housing properties.

Duties will include:

• Skimming, patch plastering and repairing damaged walls and ceilings.
• Preparing surfaces, filling cracks and making good damaged areas.
• Applying bonding, backing plaster and finishing coats.
• Internal painting and decorating, including walls, ceilings and woodwork.
• Applying mist coats, undercoats and gloss finishes.
• Making good following plumbing, electrical and general maintenance works.
• Completing reactive maintenance jobs across multiple properties.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
• Following all health & safety procedures.

Vehicle Arrangements:

• Company van and fuel card can be provided.
• Alternatively, operatives can use their own van with fuel costs reimbursed.

About You:

• Qualified / time-served Plasterer / Decorator.
• Valid CSCS card required.
• Valid DBS ideally (can be obtained before start).
• Previous social housing / reactive maintenance experience preferred.
• Experienced working in occupied and void properties.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Own tools required.
• Good attention to detail and quality of finish.
• Able to work independently across multiple properties.
