Places for People is hiring a qualified plasterer to carry out repairs across domestic properties and communal areas in Edinburgh and surrounding housing schemes. You will work to specifications, complete inspections, and ensure health and safety compliance.

You'll receive a company van with fuel card, 35 days leave, overtime opportunities, and full PPE; we offer permanent, secure employment with a supportive team and a clear career path.

Formación

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Plastering required.
• Experience as plasterer in social housing or domestic properties.
• Full UK driving licence and must be based within the advertised postcode.
• Willing to work across the patch/area.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out plastering repairs across domestic properties and communal areas.
• Complete general plastering work per specifications and supervisor instructions.
• Conduct pre and post inspections and record outcomes.
• Work to health and safety requirements and comply with standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors, schedulers and wider teams to meet deadlines.
• Record work activity and complete required documentation.
• Support apprentices and contribute to team KPIs.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out plastering repairs across domestic properties and communal areas
• Completing general plastering work in line with specifications and supervisor instructions
• Conducting pre and post inspections and recording outcomes
• Working to specifications and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
• Collaborating with supervisors, schedulers, and wider teams to meet deadlines
• Recording work activity and completing required documentation
• Supporting apprentices and contributing to team performance and KPIs

What your day looks like

• A structured schedule covering repairs and maintenance work
• Travelling between jobs in your company van
• Working independently or with a team of other tradespeople
• Engaging directly with Customers in their homes
• Completing work efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance standards

Where you'll work

You will be working across:

• Occupied homes
• Empty (void) properties
• Communal areas within housing schemes
• Environments involving vulnerable Customers

Essential Criteria (you need to meet all of these to be shortlisted)

• NVQ Level 2 or City and Guilds in Plastering
• Experience working as a Plasterer, ideally within social housing or domestic properties
• Full UK driving licence
• Due to the area this patch covers, you will need to be based within the advertised postcode

Nice to have (not essential)

• Experience supervising or mentoring apprentices
• Additional Level 2 trade qualification
