Job summary

Sovereign Network Group in Newbury & Reading is seeking an experienced Plasterer to join our Property Team. You will carry out plastering repairs across our homes, applying acoustic, insulating and fireproofing finishes.

This full-time role requires NVQ level 2 or 5+ years plastering experience, a strong health and safety mindset, and a valid driving licence with access to a company van for remote sites. We offer a competitive salary, a van and fuel card, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plastering repairs in properties as part of the Responsive Repairs Team.
• Apply and finish acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials with plaster and related materials.
• Prepare corner beads, fix cornices, coving and plaster fittings; install plasterboard and insulation.
• Measure, cut and position plasterboard; seal joints and finish surfaces.
• Maintain health and safety standards on site.

£35,409.00 - £37,234.00 Per year

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced/qualified Plasterer Multi to join our Property Team in our Newbury & Reading locality. As you’ll spend a fair amount of time on the road we will provide you with a business use van and fuel card so you’ll not be out of pocket.

What you’ll do:

As a Plasterer you will carry out all forms of plastering repairs in our properties as part of our Responsive Repairs Team and elsewhere depending on demands.

• Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials.
• Preparing corner beads, and securing them in position.
• Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, coving, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings and determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers.
• Plumbing and straightening corners, angles, wall and ceiling surfaces as well as creating decorative textures in finishing coats.
• Measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens.
• Covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing them using wet brushes and sand paper.
• Mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness.

What you’ll need:

• You should have experience within a similar role, ideally from within a Residential/Housing sector and must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 OR have a minimum of 5 years proven track record working as a plasterer.
• Have a strong health & safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices.
• Enjoy working as part of a team

This is a full time role, working 40 Hours per week.

Due to therequirement to travel, you must hold a full and current driving licence with a minimum of 1 years experience and have the ability to drive and take home a company van.

This role is subject to a satisfactory licence check and essential qualifications
