Job summary

Carbon60 is recruiting a Plasterer to support plastering and skimming across residential and commercial properties. You will prepare surfaces, apply plaster and achieve a high standard of finish, including decorative plastering and patch repairs.

You will work on site with attention to safety and accuracy in materials usage. The role requires NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering, a CSCS card, and solid experience in plastering work.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering or equivalent is required.
• CSCS card is required for site access and safety compliance.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in construction.
• Proven plastering experience including surface prep, application and finishing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean surfaces before applying plaster to ensure proper adhesion.
• Apply plaster coats to walls, ceilings and exteriors with a smooth finish.
• Perform decorative plastering tasks such as mouldings and cornices.
• Repair and patch damaged plaster to match existing surfaces.
• Mix plaster to required consistency and monitor job specifications.
• Use trowels, floats and mixers safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of work and materials used.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform other reasonable management requests.

THE ROLE:

The Plasterer will support the delivery of plastering and skimming works, including the application of plasterboard, render, and similar materials to walls, ceilings, and building exteriors across residential and commercial properties managed by the client. The role is responsible for ensuring that all surfaces are properly prepared, finished, and maintained to a high standard, contributing to the overall appearance, durability, and structural integrity of the properties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and clean surfaces before applying plaster, ensuring they are free from dust, dirt, and grease.
• Apply plaster coats to walls, ceilings, and building exteriors, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
• Perform decorative plastering tasks, including mouldings, cornices, and ornamental designs.
• Repair and patch damaged plasterwork, ensuring seamless integration with existing surfaces.
• Mix plaster to desired consistency and ensure it meets job specifications.
• Use various tools and equipment safely and efficiently, including trowels, floats, and mixers.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Any other reasonable management request.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering or equivalent.
• Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction
• Proven experience in plastering, including surface preparation, application, and finishing.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
