Job summary

Rygor Plant in Kent is seeking an experienced Plant Technician (PDI, workshop-based). The successful candidate will perform major and minor repairs, carry out PDI works, and provide mobile maintenance to maximise uptime.

Staff receive ongoing training and regular appraisals after joining the technical team. The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Plant Machinery Repair, a valid UK driving license, and flexibility for occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Plant Machinery Repair and maintenance.
• Ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with DVSA Standards.
• Current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes.

Responsibilities

• Performing major and minor repairs to plant machinery in the workshop.
• Carrying out PDI works and attachment setup on plant machinery.
• Mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
• Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hours and schedules.
• Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and keeping area clean from oil spills and dust.
• Collaborating with sales to ensure a quality service level for customers.
• Helping diagnose and plan repairs with other teams.
• Maintaining repair records and related documentation.

Basic: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE

Monday to Friday, plus the occasional Saturdays. Flexibility is required

As a PDI Plant Technician, your role will be to keep our customers' vehicles and machinery fully maintained and compliant to maximise uptime. The right candidate will be able to deliver an exceptional service and to the highest quality.

Day to day, you will be:

• Performing major and minor repairs to plant machinery in the workshop.
• Carrying out PDI works and attachment set up on plant machinery.
• Mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
• Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hrs and schedules.
• Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
• Working with other departments, including the sales team to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers.
• Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for to machines/vehicles.
• Maintaining records of machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
• Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.
• Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees as required.

Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:

You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in Plant Machinery Repair and maintenance. What's more, you will need the ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards and have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes. Additionally, you will need to be flexible on location and working hours.
