Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Shift Plant Operator based in Stoke-on-Trent to monitor and control boilers, turbines and associated plant equipment for safe and efficient energy generation.

You will respond to alarms, maintain shift records, and support continuous improvements in plant performance while upholding health, safety and environmental standards. A permanent role with opportunities for training and progression is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with boiler operations or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and operational procedures.
• Ability to carry out manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
• Knowledge of computer systems and DCS controls would be advantageous.
• Experience in process, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation engineering is beneficial.

The role involves using control systems to optimise plant performance, responding to alarms and operational issues, maintaining accurate shift records, supporting waste and material movements, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards

• Experience and understanding of boiler operations or a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and operational procedures.
• Good teamwork skills and a reliable, motivated approach to work.
• Ability to carry out manual handling and physically demanding tasks when required.
• Knowledge of computer systems and DCS controls would be advantageous.
• Experience in process, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation engineering is beneficial.
• FLT/FLS, BOAS, City & Guilds Small Thermal Plant, or similar industry qualifications are desirable.

Job Offer
