Job summary

Shift Plant Operator role in a well-established energy and industrial facility in the United Kingdom. You will monitor boilers, turbines and plant equipment, using control systems to optimise performance and respond to alarms to keep operations safe and efficient.

The successful candidate will maintain shift records, support waste and material movements, and ensure strict compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in boiler operations or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and operational procedures.
• Good teamwork and motivated work ethic.
• Ability to carry out manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
• Knowledge of computer systems and DCS controls is advantageous.
• Experience in process, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation engineering is beneficial.

Job Description

As a Shift Plant Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling boilers, turbines and associated plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. The role involves using control systems to optimise plant performance, responding to alarms and operational issues, maintaining accurate shift records, supporting waste and material movements, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Shift Plant Operator should have:

• Experience and understanding of boiler operations or a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and operational procedures.
• Good teamwork skills and a reliable, motivated approach to work.
• Ability to carry out manual handling and physically demanding tasks when required.
• Knowledge of computer systems and DCS controls would be advantageous.
• Experience in process, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation engineering is beneficial.
• FLT/FLS, BOAS, City & Guilds Small Thermal Plant, or similar industry qualifications are desirable.
