Job summary

Vital Energi in the Midlands seeks a Mechanical Plant Room Engineer to support energy centres and hospital plant rooms. You will oversee, operate and maintain mechanical plant equipment ensuring safe, efficient operation of heating, cooling and power systems. The role requires a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent, experience with seals and pressurisation units, and a full UK driving licence. Salary negotiable DOE with company van and benefits.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds qualification or equivalent is required.
• Experience with mechanical seals, bearings and pressurisation units is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, operate and maintain mechanical plant equipment (boilers, CHP units, chillers, pumps, valves, etc.).
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Monitor system performance, energy use and efficiency; diagnose faults.
• Carry out repairs or escalate to specialist contractors when needed.
• Ensure compliance with HVAC, Gas Safe, water hygiene, LOLER and PUWER.
