Vital Energi is seeking a Plant Room/Mechanical Engineer for our North East Operations & Maintenance team. You will oversee mechanical plant equipment, perform maintenance, and ensure smooth energy centre operations.

You will work with BMS/SCADA, monitor temperatures and pressures, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations. A City & Guilds qualification and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds qualification or equivalent required.
• Experience with mechanical seals, bearings and pressurisation units.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and maintain mechanical plant equipment (boilers, CHP, chillers).
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Monitor system performance, energy use and efficiency.
• Diagnose faults and coordinate repairs with contractors.
• Ensure compliance with HVAC, Gas Safe, water hygiene, LOLER, PUWER requirements.
• Record data and prepare service reports.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
