Vital Energi in the Midlands is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Operations & Maintenance team. You will service and maintain plant rooms across industrial, commercial and domestic sites, focusing on boilers, CHP, chillers and associated equipment.

You will perform PPM and reactive work, monitor energy performance, and ensure safety and compliance with rules such as Gas Safe and PUWER. A full UK driving license and City & Guilds qualification are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical seals, bearings and pressurisation units.
• Full UK manual driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Oversee, operate, and maintain mechanical plant equipment (boilers, CHP units, chillers, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, compressors, pipework).
• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Monitor system performance, pressures, flows and energy efficiency.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical plant systems and carry out corrective repairs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (HVAC, Gas Safe, water hygiene, LOLER, PUWER).
• Record maintenance data and complete job sheets and reports.
