Job summary

Mars Petcare at Castle Cary is seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Engineer to ensure maximum plant reliability, efficiency and safety across production and packaging lines.

You will perform planned maintenance and rapid breakdown response, collaborating with operations to drive continuous improvement while upholding world-class safety and quality standards. Benefits include a welcoming bonus and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Engineer: approved apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3/ONC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Multi-Skilled: hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, diagnostics.
• HSE: strong understanding of health, safety and environment guidelines including permit-to-work.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with operations and shift teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and rapid breakdown repairs to minimise downtime.
• Lead safety and compliance with Mars policies and UK legislation.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in machinery and layouts.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure clear handovers between shifts.
