Job summary

Veolia is hiring a Plant Operator in Shrewsbury to support the Energy Recovery Facility’s daily operations. You’ll work with the shift team to monitor plant performance from the central control room and ensure compliance with environmental permits.

We offer a competitive salary of £53,833.37 per annum, 40-hour week, and Veolia benefits including pension, training, and health resources. The role suits someone with background in continuous process plants and shift work.

Qualifications

• Engineering experience in a continuous process environment.
• Hands-on interest in mechanical and electrical plant with some operations experience.
• Experience with shift patterns and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the shift team leader with operation and monitoring from the central control room using the DCS.
• Ensure day-to-day compliance with Environmental Permit and report incidents.
• Carry out routine plant inspections and record plant data.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of the Energy Recovery Facility.
• Monitor stocks and receipts of consumables.
• Work as part of the Operations team and support other staff.
• Assist other staff and contractors as required.
• Undertake personal development to enhance knowledge and skills.
