Job summary

Veolia in Chilton (Durham) is seeking a Plant Operator to help run our wood pellet production safely and efficiently. You will handle raw materials, monitor KPIs and participate in quality control, while working a 40-hour week on a rotating shift pattern from 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00.

Qualifications

• A full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport.
• Strong IT skills and ability to record and report data accurately.
• Ability to operate a range of mobile equipment, following training.
• Previous experience in a production, processing, plant or operations role is advantageous.
• Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship or operational training course would be advantageous.
• Understanding of quality control, KPI monitoring and safe plant operation.
• Willingness to undertake continued learning and development relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Handle raw materials and support product quality control throughout the wood pellet production process.
• Monitor production activity to ensure operational KPIs are achieved.
• Carry out routine plant inspections and complete operational adjustments as required.
• Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently in line with training and site procedures.
• Collect, record and report accurate plant and production data.
• Work in accordance with the company's Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
• Complete ongoing training and development to improve the knowledge and skills required for the role.

• A willingness to undertake continued learning and development relevant to the role.
