Job summary

Veolia is seeking a hands-on Loader Operator at our Hertfordshire site. You will operate a wheeled loading shovel and support the movement of materials to and from HGVs and the mobile shredder. The role requires vigilance with stockpiles, routine safety checks, and upkeep of equipment.

You will perform weighbridge duties when required and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards. A valid NPORS or CPCS card and basic mechanical knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Loading shovel licence and experience required.
• Similar operational heavy plant experience preferred.
• Valid operator competency cards such as NPORS or CPCS are desirable.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate a wheeled loading shovel.
• Load HGV vehicles and operate the mobile shredder.
• Monitor, organise, and maintain material stockpiles and transport items across the facility.
• Conduct daily pre-use safety inspections, perform basic upkeep like greasing and cleaning, and report any mechanical faults.
• Weighbridge duties when needed.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations, wear required PPE, and keep work areas clean.

Hours - 45 per week, Monday to Friday 07:00 till 16:30

Overtime when needed on weekends
