Job description

What will I be doing?

You will carry out duties individually or as part of a team, managing operations to control, transfer, and stockpile waste and recyclables at a busy material transfer station.

The role will involve:

• Operating mobile and fixed plant, including cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Managing traffic, such as guiding tipping vehicles.
• Operating the weighbridge and accurately recording vehicle weights and other details upon entry and exit.
• Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with legal duties regarding health, safety, and welfare of employees and the public.
• Cooperating with SUEZ and colleagues to meet site permits, legislation, and company policies.
• Providing excellent customer service by cooperating with customers and the public.
• Performing other duties reasonably requested within the scope of the role, including first aid and fire safety duties on site.

What are the requirements?

We seek an enthusiastic team player with a working knowledge of site license/permit systems and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards. The role requires flexibility, including covering annual leave and weekends, and involves:

• Operational experience and current licenses for loading shovels, 360 tele-handlers, and forklifts.
• Opportunities for personal development in waste acceptance, equipment maintenance, and site operations.
• Experience in waste/recycling or similar environments is highly advantageous.
• A strong understanding of health & safety practices.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good IT skills.
