Job description

Job Title: Plant Operator/Labourer

Here at The Mick George Group, we are seeking Plant Operators and Labourers in the Northamptonshire area to join our team.

Job Overview

The role involves operating plant and machinery to assist with mineral retrieval and ground profiling to the required level. Additional duties may include day-to-day operations of the quarry/landfill as assigned by a site supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities
  1. Carry out daily and weekly maintenance checks on mobile and fixed plant to ensure standards are met.
  2. Perform maintenance tasks such as greasing and cleaning equipment.
  3. Report any defects to site management or workshop using the R2C app.
  4. Control product quality and follow plant GPS to achieve required ground levels.
  5. Complete and submit timesheets accurately on a weekly basis.
  6. Log production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and other relevant information correctly.
  7. Inform management of any unsuitable materials for production.
  8. Understand company procedures related to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  9. Highlight any training needs to line management, especially for legislative requirements.
  10. Conduct oneself safely and professionally to prevent accidents and maintain site safety standards.
  11. Maintain site cleanliness to minimize hazards.
  12. Maintain regular communication with site management.
Skills and Qualifications
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience with Dozer, 360 Excavator, or Dump Truck (minimum 5 years).
  • A hard-working attitude.
  • Experience with GPS (machine control).
