Job summary

JLL is seeking a Plant Operations Technician for the Rolls-Royce contract in Derby. Onsite role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shift, with responsibility for overseeing plant and equipment, ensuring reliable MEP systems, and driving operational excellence.

You will implement preventive maintenance, inspect systems, and collaborate with vendors while staying compliant with safety and regulatory standards, all within a team-focused environment at Derby.

Qualifications

• Experienced in engineering, facilities management or related field.
• Proven plant operations experience, preferably within commercial real estate.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety.
• Solid health and safety knowledge and regulatory compliance.
• Data-driven decision making and problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• CMMS proficiency and related software.
• Valid UK driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of all plant and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Coordinate with managers to identify and meet MEP requirements efficiently.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, schedules, and processes to minimise downtime.
• Perform regular onsite visits to inspect MEP systems and resolve faults promptly.
• Collaborate with vendors to source materials and negotiate contracts and service agreements.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and stay updated on codes and standards.
• Stay informed about technologies and trends to boost efficiency and sustainability.
