Job summary

Geary’s Bakeries is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead engineering at our fast-paced production site in the UK. You will drive maintenance programs, manage engineers and 3rd party contractors, and ensure plant reliability while delivering on safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have FMCG manufacturing experience, an engineering degree or equivalent, and strong leadership with a focus on continuous improvement and cost control.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role within FMCG manufacturing (ideally food).
• Engineering degree or equivalent; minimum L3 level.
• Strong leadership, planning and process control abilities.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, PLC, HMI, robotics and drives.
• Awareness of health and safety, quality and food safety.
• Project management and continuous improvement experience.
• Able to produce OEE, downtime and budget trend reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance program delivery and plan/schedule maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Hygiene, Technical and Engineering teams.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture.
• Manage CMMS system, PPM schedules, work requests and work orders.
• Ensure spare parts availability and replacement processes.
• Review maintenance for continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
• Report planning KPI's and lead weekly engineering meetings.
• Oversee 3rd party planning and site servicing contracts.
• Deliver site budget and input to the next year's budget.
