Job summary

The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) Oxford invites applications for Scientist (all levels) in Advanced Genome Technologies within Plant Biology Institute. You will design and conduct experiments in genome technologies and plant transformation, pushing boundaries in plant biotech for real-world impact.

We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in molecular biology or related field and a strong track record in plant molecular biology, data interpretation, and translational research.

Qualifications

• Excellent domain knowledge in cellular, molecular and synthetic biology.
• Experience in plant molecular biology and plant-microbe interactions anticipated.
• Ability to rapidly test diverse hypotheses while remaining adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Drive rigorous experimental design, execution, and data interpretation.
• Deliver research progress through stage gated milestones.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply cutting edge techniques.
• Present scientific work at seminars and external meetings; contribute to discussions.
• Mentor other members of the research group where appropriate.
• Collaborate with experts across the EIT ecosystem (AI, automation, generative biology).
• Assist in translating scientific results into commercial opportunities and IP.
• Ensure ethical conduct and compliance with policy and best practices.
