Job summary

J Murphy & Sons is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to service and repair a range of plant equipment on-site across our projects. The role focuses on safe, reliable operation and accurate record-keeping.

Candidates should have NVQ2/3 or equivalent, a full UK driving licence, and be willing to undertake Murphy training. You will work in a busy workshop environment and contribute to completing maintenance tasks to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Experience gained through hands-on maintenance and repair work.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Willingness to undertake Murphy training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, servicing and maintenance to a high standard on plant equipment.
• Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair of faults; document work digitally.

What your day will look like:

Maintain and repair to a high standard various items of plant including but not limited to:

• - Excavators from 1.5t to 36t
• - Dumpers from 2t to 30T
• - Rollers from trench to 13T
• - Lighting towers
• - Tractors
• - Smaller items such as towable compressors and pressure washers
• - Generators from 20Kva to 100Kva
• - Towable and Static welfare unit's and much more

You will be expected to:

• - Conduct periodic inspections, servicing and maintenance to a high standard in line with manufacturers specifications and recording information digitally including photographic evidence.
• - Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair of faults.
• - Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient workshop.

What we need from you:

• - Knowledge that you have acquired through experience
• - Education to NVQ2 or 3 equivalent
• - Desirable not essential.
• - Full UK driving licence
• - Commitment to carry out in house Murphy training requirements
