Join the Planning Support team at a leading council, focusing on the administration and collection of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). This role involves identifying liable planning applications, processing payments, and providing excellent service to applicants. Ideal for candidates with strong administrative skills and attention to detail, with training provided for specific regulations.
The Planning Support team is responsible for a wide variety of functions including validating and registering planning applications, Land Charges, the Community Infrastructure Levy, administering the Development Management Committee, Street Naming and Numbering, and providing support for the Planning Officers.
In this rare and exciting role, you will work within the Planning Support team focusing on the administration and collection of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
You will support the CIL Officer to provide an efficient service by identifying CIL liable planning applications, granting CIL relief, and processing payments in accordance with the CIL Regulations.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of CIL, including identifying liable development, monitoring and updating applications in the database, and processing payments and claims for relief from the charge.
You will send and respond to emails from applicants and agents using standard templates, ensuring key documents are stored securely and actions are recorded accurately.
Occasionally, you will also enter and monitor new planning legal agreements.
Previous experience of working in an administrative role performing tasks to a high standard and with excellent attention to detail are essential.
You will have the ability to work as part of a team or individually and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and excellent customer service.
Knowledge of the Community Infrastructure Levy regulations is not essential, as training will be provided for the successful candidate.
