Our client, based in the Shropshire region, is currently seeking a Planning Policy Officer to join their team on a 3-month initial contract basis. The role offers flexible working arrangements, with 20-24 hours per week.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research and analysis to support planning policy development and review.
  • Preparing and presenting policy reports, briefings, and guidance documents.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align policy objectives.
  • Undertaking site visits and consultation activities.
  • Monitoring and evaluating existing planning policies.
  • Staying updated on legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Contributing to strategic plans and public consultation documents.

Job requirements:

  • Significant experience in planning policy, preferably in the environmental sector.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and procedures.
