Our Transport Policy Team is looking for passionate and dedicated Assistant Transport Policy Officer to join our amazing team and help make a difference today!

About The Role

You’ll play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of Southwark’s transport planning policies, including the Streets for People strategy and delivery plan. This role combines research, stakeholder engagement, policy development, and performance monitoring. You’ll contribute to the design of investment programmes and help guide projects that make a real difference to how people travel, live, and interact with their neighbourhoods.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Supporting the delivery of borough-wide transport planning policy and related projects
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align policies and resolve issues
• Contributing to innovation, digital transformation, and service improvement across the team

About The Team

The Transport Policy team leads on strategic transport direction for Southwark, working closely with partners such as TfL, the GLA, engineers, and local communities. As the authors of the Streets for People strategy, the team is central to shaping the future of Southwark’s streets.

Additional Information

• Full-time role: 36 hours per week (Monday – Friday), with occasional evening or weekend work.
